What is AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)?
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of optimizing your website and content to be cited by AI-powered answer engines — including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, and other AI assistants that generate answers by synthesizing information from the web.
As more people use AI assistants instead of traditional search engines, AEO is becoming as important as traditional SEO. If an AI assistant recommends your competitor instead of you, you lose traffic you'll never see in your analytics.
How AEO Differs from SEO
